Well-intentioned small-town values run headfirst into corporate determination in Dot.com, director Luís Galvão Teles's offbeat culture clash comedy. The residents of the village known as Águas-Altas harbour only one wish: to register their 800-year-old community on the domain name aguasaltas.com. Unfortunately for them, Águas-Altas also just happens to be the name of a huge multinational Spanish corporation specializing in mineral water - whose proprietors grow so indignant at the online challenge served up by the villagers that they decide to sue the community for use of the name - little foreseeing the outrageous complications that will result.
