A building becomes so affected by the atmospheres left behind by people that it develops an allergic reaction.
Walls suffer rashes, boils and weeping sores - the building is alive but it is sick. A virus moves through its fabric with the vitality of a rogue cancer. Lesions form, intestines burst through formerly stable surfaces and the fireplace vomits copiously.
Things are rotten to the core. All that was buried has risen to the surface.
Meanwhile the inhabitants continue their banal existence within the disrupted organism of the house.
